Yup. They both want the same thing, but one group believes in one more prophet. I guess that's where the animosity comes from.

I can go on a long discussion on about how both Islam and Christianity can go the fuck on and the laundry of shit they have done and effected needs to be called out.
With that said I think just burning the book while I guess basic and gets the job done lacks tact. To me it burning it just for the sake of its different and fails to get across the reasons which leaves it up to interpretation of your grievance.
If its protected sure. Do I find it kind of tacky and low effort big time.

The alt-right is apparently the most racially, religiously, and sexually diverse white nationalist movement.

I find it to be kind of an empty gesture on its own. I mean, it's not the only copy around anymore. And it's long since been digitized, so destroying copies doesn't accomplish much of anything.
But it provides shock value, so witless stooges with a penchant for bigotry are going to burn books while shouting slurs, beating their chests and defecating in their hands and throwing it at passersby.

Well, Pakistan is a Muslim majority country so I'm not shocked by this reaction. I can't imagine anyone is going to care since Pakistan has long not been flavour of the month but whatever.
Sure. In that case, let's also treat Islam like other religions and not say it's incompatible with Western society, that Muslims are fifth columnists seeking to destroy our way of life by invading our countries and replacing us by breeding faster. It's genuinely very interesting to see people tell Muslims they need to accept being treated like people of any other religion, when they patently are not treated like people of other religions.

Partly. 9/11 and the subsequent terrorism was rather more the issue. No-one really gave a damn before 9/11 - or at least, it was more in the realm of localised frictions where there were significant Muslim minorities.
Since Al-Qaida and ISIS pretty much died, there's been a lot less inspiration for troubled young men to go out destructively and (they hope) gloriously. It may seem exciting to join the fightback, but much less so when the fightback turns out to be a bunch of losers who murder a ton of people without achieving change.

Also you know the prevalence of them in relation to certain crimes and refusal of authorities to tackle certain crimes when said groups are involved and try to bury the information likely doesn't help. Also other elements relating to culture and lets say rhetoric surrounding different groups and the view on them according to some preachers.
I mean they are promised 72 virgins for it. (though I think they could probably be somewhat dissuaded by being reminded that could well mean 72 old women who never had sex)
