Nah, somebody has to do it. People who supported setting government buildings on fire in the US are now supportive of government crackdowns on protests in Bolivia for attacking a political headquarters, just days after arguing with me that crackdowns on protestors literally blockading a city were uncalled for. The double standard is sickening.
It's just shocking to see the switch flip so instantly. The socialists regain power and without missing a beat we've flipped to "jail all the dissidents".
It's because they won, man. It's the only way to justify what they believe, is that they must keep winning. If their ideology was a failure then it's the fault of others, and when it's a success it is a proof to themselves that they are virtuous and that they must protect that victory at all costs.
