Is there any ‘striving to make sure it never happens again?’ Because I’ve heard what the union is saying and it sounds like they thought the officers were just ‘doing their duty’ and shouldn’t be punishedIf they already repent of their actions and are striving to make sure it never happens again, then why make this thread? Just to beat up on the police some more? Why declare you're leaving the country? Because you hate it when people admit their mistakes and correct course to be better?
We can all see what you're doing.
That falls under "Because you hate it when people admit their mistakes and correct course to be better?"Spreading a story to explain a mindset?
Nah, we here on this video game forum aren't going to convince police officials to clean up their act.To increase the possibility of follow through on the lip service?
Accusing bad faith is mistreating them. It's an easy sound byte for a captain or chief to make. The problem is how often that leads to no meaningful punishment or change, once the news cycle moves on.
There's the union, then there are the police chiefs. Who are we supposed to be finding fault with, again? Is there any ‘striving to make sure it never happens again?’ Because I’ve heard what the union is saying and it sounds like they thought the officers were just ‘doing their duty’ and shouldn’t be punished
Yeah, not holding my breath on anything much more, though.

Rochester police officers suspended over pepper spraying of 9-year-old girl
"Unfortunately, state law and union contract prevents me from taking more immediate and serious action," the mayor said in a statement.www.cbsnews.com
The officers involved have been suspended.
Both. Unions more because if a Chief steps out of line the union finds some way to make them fired. Doesn’t excuse the Chief encouraging the behaviourThere's the union, then there are the police chiefs. Who are we supposed to be finding fault with, again?
It's a start, so I will take what I can get right now.Yeah, not holding my breath on anything much more, though.
We here on this gaming forum, are the public and international community. Public outrage at home and abroad is one of the only things that impact these incidents. That falls under "Because you hate it when people admit their mistakes and correct course to be better?"

True. It's a start, so I will take what I can get right now.
Not to mention, the evidence that won't matter was caught on body cams. It's not like the old days when a member of the public would have to film evidence that doesn't matter themselves, then end up in prison over something and get rat poison in their food.Guys, come on
There were (at least) six officers on that video. How can you expect six grown men and women to be able to take on a handcuffed nine year old girl? If anything, they should be commended for not pulling out their weapons and filling her with more holes than a block of swiss cheese cause they must have been scared shitless that she was going to break lose and murder them all with her bare hands!!!!
Thoughts and Prayers for the officers involved that they can mentally get over this Death Dodging Situation. The physical slight scuff mark from being kicked by a nine year old may heal but the mental scars may never go away...
