Try the Thieves' Guild quests. Those were more interesting than those dungeon quests where you go and fight in Crypt/Dwemer Ruin/Mossy ruins of a fort #f00ab342. Although I have to admit I liked exploring the Dwemer ruins in the game.

I've never experienced the Steampunk genre so much, but I recall Thief II's environments were Steampunkish. I always go by Annoying Turd, or a variant like Annoying Loser. In multiplayer games, those names suit my playstyle well. I don't know how much weight such names carry in single-player games.
