I myself am a novice in Computer Science and programming. All I've done is worked through MIT's 6.00 course (haven't touch 6.001) and Harvard's CS50 (planning on taking http://cs101-class.org too), as well as the fall courses offered for free by Stanford University on AI, Machine Learning, and...
Try the Thieves' Guild quests. Those were more interesting than those dungeon quests where you go and fight in Crypt/Dwemer Ruin/Mossy ruins of a fort #f00ab342.
Although I have to admit I liked exploring the Dwemer ruins in the game.
I've never experienced the Steampunk genre so much, but I recall Thief II's environments were Steampunkish. What I liked about the game was that Garrett (the Player Character) was essentially a vehicle for the player to explore the medieval-esque/steampunk City. Although you're just a catburglar...
Here's a question: how would you implement a BigInt class in C++, which enables the creation of arbitrarily-long integers as well as operations on those integers?
I always go by Annoying Turd, or a variant like Annoying Loser. In multiplayer games, those names suit my playstyle well. I don't know how much weight such names carry in single-player games.
I was quite pleased to even see a Skyrim character in a jester suit (at first I thought Cicero was probably a disciple of Sheogorath or something); I recall 'Jester' sprites were in the older 2D elder scrolls games, like the Spymasters of the old Dark Brotherhood or Thieves Guilds in daggerfall.
I'm really pleased with the the Cicero character; you (probably) first meet him quite early in the game as an seemingly innocent crazy guy transporting his 'mother'.
Then you find out he's a Keeper of the Dark Brotherhood.
His journals do a great job exposing his past (as well as the...
I still play Ultima VII (Both part I, the Black Gate, and II, the Serpent Isle), ~1994, as well as Ultima Online, ~1997
I also play the games from the Elite series (space sims), and the classic Elderscrolls games (Arena and Daggerfall).
I managed 1663 characters per minute, or 295 words per minute. (4 wrong words). Says I'm in position 10 out of 57128 :)
Burned through the whole thing until it broke and spat 'undefined' words.

There are chickens in Skyrim?
I've never noticed that there were mundane creatures in the Elder Scrolls games at all, besides horses and bears and deer perhaps.
