I would have to say Heavy Rain's: Ethan Mars is the best video game character why you ask? his characterization, everything he did was to find his son, and his desperation was shown, along with guilt and regret, very well in many scenes

I watched all of it after reading this, it was pretty unnerving, but reading about Slender Man after made it much much worse!

Only problem I see with this is that you wouldn't be able to use the touch screen part, at least not as much, with arguably half the game occurring on the part of the hand-held that is not touch screen.. I'm just saying.
