Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. It had issues on arrival...what with glitches, poor reviews, less-than-stellar sales. but I still love that game. it has a rather original concept, and its good fun. it ended up becoming a large influence on the design and game mechanics the ended up in Skyrim.

LOL to all of that. Just roll one up...make sure it's good stuff, sit back...and smoke away the bulls**t of the day. Perfect ending.

This sounds odd, but I still think good ol' Titan Quest holds up pretty well in the visual department, and let me not forget Just Cause 2...its really beautiful on max settings. I'm tempted to say Skyrim here, but there's some really shoddy/low-res texture work spattered all over that game...

Yeah...but its a good idea to turn it off...it really does make a difference. You're not looking at the compass all the time (as one normally does) but at the WORLD. Way better. If you need to know where you're going....use that shout that shows you the way to your current goal. Problem sorted!

Well the gameplay isn't that bad...its just that the Diablo II seriously improved upon it. You'll see the story line as you play it out...not anywhere near as complicated as some of today's story arcs...but good nonetheless.
