So you meet Bobby Kotick in an alley...

Was that a Brave New World reference?

Who was the last enemy you killed?

The latest enemy I've vanquished is Arantir from Dark Messiah: Might and Magic.

Video Games blamed for US Massacre in Iraq

Dude, the pilots were not referring to the cameras carried by the reporters when they said "AK-47's". There were guys on the street OTHER THAN THE REPORTERS who DEFINITELY appeared to have weapons. Seriously, it's not that hard to see and understand. Watch the video again and keep an eye on...

    - Science Fiction Turn-Offs -

What grinds my gears most is scientific inaccuracy. For instance, the events and character motivations in the new Star Trek movie revolve around a catastrophic supernova that happens sometime in the future. As Spock described it, the supernova was so massive that it "threatened the entire...

Calling all Dungeons & Dragons players!

I'd never though of it like that, so I agree that you do make a good point. I guess my beef with 4th Ed. is that it's almost a complete change from 3.X, but could hardly be called an astounding success in that most 3.X players have migrated or will migrate to 4th Ed. I don't particularly care...

Calling all Dungeons & Dragons players!

If those who have posted in this thread are the entirety of the P&P D&D players on the Escapist, well, that's pretty sad.

Calling all Dungeons & Dragons players!

What 4th Edition should have been: http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/ Anyway, I've played one short 2nd Ed. adventure, which ended quickly due to a hail of goblin spears on our 1st level group. What really got me into D&D was 3rd Ed. though. One of my friends was obsessed enough with...

Why is Gordon Freeman so popular?

Well, Wikipedia has just about everything you could want to know about The Freeman. Take a read, if you care to, and perhaps your perspective may be changed a bit. For me, there's a certain nostalgia associated with Gordon Freeman, as Half-Life was the first real FPS game I'd ever played...

    Female Gamers: An Unpopular Opinion

I have to say, I agree with the OP on just about every point. If some girl wants to make her gender the foremost feature of her online/gamer persona while pushing everything else to the background, then I guess she can do that, just as any one of us can decide to make flames and trolling the...

    Bullying

A swift kick to the crotch or a sharp jab to the throat would probably tame your run-of-the-mill bully. When it's your sanity on the line, the wellbeing of the bully takes second place.

Mine's Taronyu Eyktan. Interesting how the Na'vi name sounds similar to my real name.

    Peer-Pressure

So, if I'd prefer to not endure the discomfort of donating blood, I'm a bad person? I'd certainly be irritated with my "friends" if they kept heckling me to "save someone's life".

BioWare Kills Mass Effect 2 PS3 Rumor

That was informative. Up until now, I was under the impression that the PS3 had ONLY 256MB of ram which was shared by both the GPU and the CPU. I did know that the PS3 uses XDR ram, which is rather similar to the RDRAM of yore. High operating clocks made possible by high latencies and narrow...

BioWare Kills Mass Effect 2 PS3 Rumor

So, you're telling me that the Xbox 360's 512MB of memory is somehow "split in half", and that only half of it is usable by whatever game it's running? Even if this were the case, it's still not burdened with handling the OS as well as the game, like the PS3's 256MB of memory.
