The ability to pause time whenever, everywhere would be a playground.
Or to become a giant 4-storey pigeon capable of supersonic flight, that's nice too.
I try not to remember any but...
when I was a kid I played many movie adaptation games, 9 out of 10 were horrible but I finished it to the letter, not knowing it sucked ass.
Mass Effect 1 and 2. Too many close contenders with it but these come up on the pile.
2) Fallout series
3) The Last of Us
4) TWD by Telltale (noticing a pattern here woth post-apocalyptia)
5) Bioshock
6) Halo: CE
Heh, I find both equally immersive for different reasons. In 1st person, you sorta experience the things, then in 3rd person, you feel like you are this guy following your character around in some "good reality tv show". (That phrase has never been used before, I bet.)
Game was excellent so far. But is it impossible to completely stealth through any encounter? I mean, I play MGS a lot and I believe I'm of somewhat decent stealth skill in games, yet I have never gone through one whole area without some random guy randomly spotting me.
