Rumor: Concept Designs for Nintendo's "Project Cafe" Surface

All that effort spent on ridding myself of the habit of looking down at the lights on my controller... meaningless!

    Okay what's a dog lord?

The only time I've heard "dog lord" used was in Dragon Age 2. I assumed it was derogatory slang used to refer to Fereldans in the game's world. It's my understanding that dogs, specifically the mabari, hold cultural significance in Fereldan. So, since dogs are so closely related to Fereldan...

So, who did you play as in Far Cry 2? And why?

Ah, it might sound a little silly, but I played as Quarbani Singh because I liked his gloves. I mean, if I was going to be looking at my character's hands for the entire game, I might as well pick the guy with the cool leather gloves, right?

    HARDEST ACHIEVEMENT YOU EVER GOT.

Shoot, is it really that hard? I just ended up getting it naturally while playing a Veteran stealth character. Thinking about it, I suppose there are more than a few missions where an encounter gets forced onto you. I guess you don't need any advice since you already have the achievement, but...

Why do Americans do the date differently?

Maybe it's to bring it in line with (what might be) the most common way Americans say it. "Today is January first, of two thousand eleven." Maybe the government considers the month more important than the day on their documents (maybe for organizational and cataloging purposes), so they...

Poll: So the F-22 has been cancelled

I'm with Raptor Ace. Whether you think the F-22 is the best, or the Eurofighter or a Sukhoi or a MiG, none of these aircraft are so much more advanced than the other that it can compensate, in any meaningful way, for a difference of skill between pilots. It's been like this for a long time...

    Bayonetta as a role model

Ha, I'm not much of a debater actually, so maybe I'll stick to making trite comments on news stories. "Oh, that's interesting." or "I'm looking forward to it." Really though, It'd be great to debate with you again in the future. Happy New Year, ma'am.

    Bayonetta as a role model

Well... I think we've pretty much come to an understanding. I gave it some thought, and I figure maybe this is how icons become icons. Maybe this analysis you and others give Bayonetta is the kind of thing that causes characters to become something deeper and more meaningful than what they were...

    Bayonetta as a role model

Well... I guess maybe that's what being an icon is. Being more to people than what you were designed to be. I would like to repeat that she was designed with a purpose. Many (almost all of them, but not all) of her character traits can be connected to this purpose... but I will concede that some...

    Bayonetta as a role model

The issue I have with Bayonetta as some kind of progressive feminist icon is that her sexuality goes beyond just appealing to males. Her appearance, her attitude, her personality... it's all designed to manipulate male sexuality. It's practically weaponized. Someone else in this thread...

BioWare Says PS3 Mass Effect 2 Will Be Better, Incites Flame Wars

Well, 360 players should look on the bright side. At least they don't have to tolerate the PS3's shoulder buttons for gunplay. Still, I've never been so sure on this 'rewarding people who had to wait with a better or more complete game' mentality. Especially if it leaves the people who bought...

Your views on the Call Of Duty franchise.

Thinking back on it, even though I've always considered myself neutral towards the series, I've actually played most of the games for one reason or another. Though honestly I only started playing the multiplayer when Black Ops came out. I quite enjoyed it, and the whole thing made me feel better...

About to play Mass Effect 1 for the first time. Any suggestions before I start?

I can vouch for this. The auto-saves in ME1 are sparse and infrequent. They are especially so in the Mako storyline sections. Save frequently. I can even remember a particular boss fight that didn't have an auto-save before it.

About to play Mass Effect 1 for the first time. Any suggestions before I start?

Playing as a Soldier isn't bad. You get access to heavy armor (after you level up your armor skill enough), which is nice. After two playthroughs on an Infiltrator and two more playthroughs on an Adept, I was sick and tired of not being able to wear heavy armor. Plus you get Immunity, which is...

And They Said it Was... OVERPOWERED.

No problem. As far as Ace Combat's super planes go, the Nosferatu is definitely one of the better ones. Or at least one of the more destructive ones. Project Aces probably shoulda' kept it off multiplayer, though.
