I Miss the PS2 Days/7th generation (WITH DISCUSSION VALUE)

Does anyone else miss the old days, the days when you had to get up and buy your games? The days when J-RPGs were thriving and weren't dying? When FPSs were smart and intelligent and required you to think? Remember Dark Cloud? I miss those days. And I was wondering, do you do too? Do you miss...

Shouldn't Bethesda Just Use The Term "Open World Sandbox"?

It's 55 minutes you'll never regret. No, Fallout 1 is in a completely different genre from Fallout 3, Skyrim or Dragon Age. It is in a different category of its own, it is in a subgenre. It's not THE genre of RPGs, its the TRUE genre of RPGs, the TRUE subgenre.

    I Miss the PS2 Days/7th generation

Remember that time when new games came out that weren't the same shit every year with a new coat of paint? Remember when J-RPGs were actually good and thriving? Remember when an obscure game came out, like Mr. Mosquito Man, it was unique and it didn't have the horrible Hipsteresque "Indie" title...

Shouldn't Bethesda Just Use The Term "Open World Sandbox"?

Again, Fallout 1 and 2. Those are the true RPGs because they don't hold your hand and tell you where to go, the worst thing about Bethesda's games are that they treat the player like he's an idiot. Every quest it vaguely tells you what to do, no directions or anything. Just, do this and come...

What is a good live-action fantasy show?

I guess, Game of Thrones. But, that's pretty fucking mainstream, I guess. Well, Xena? I don't know, Merlin? Shit, half of the live-action fantasy stuff is from the 90s' so you're probably going need to bring a trashcan because the crap you're going to see is some corny-ass shit.

Shouldn't Bethesda Just Use The Term "Open World Sandbox"?

Again, Fallout 1 and 2. Planescape: Torment. Etc. Also, the ones you described are from today. What I'm saying is this, in Fallout 1 and 2 - you know, the series the fourth one they're making is from - you had all these decisions and options at your disposal. I could kill everything and...

What Final Fantasy Should I Start With?

I've tried mulitiple times to get into these games and beat it, but I'm wondering - which one should I try to play first. The good ones, the ones where you run in a straight line, or the MMORPGs. Which one is your favorite?

Transgender in Dragon Age Inquisition and Steins;Gate.

They shove bisexuals and gays down your throat, so why not Transgenders?

Shouldn't Bethesda Just Use The Term "Open World Sandbox"?

Again, the term RPG. It's not really an RPG, it's a hybrid of the genre. RPG is means Role-Playing. Which means I'm pretending and being immersed into my own decisions and my own world, but the problem with Skyrim is my own world and my own decisions are 100% everyone else in terms of plot and...

Not Quite How You Remembered It

Fallout 3. Loved that game when I was young, I did every single thing. Got every single unique weapon and did every single little thing. And now, when I play it, I just go "meh." Sure, it was amazing back in 2008, but try playing today it just doesn't have the same joy.

Dark Cloud 3. Woot, Woot.. What Do You Want in It?

I recommend getting an emulator and just downloading the ROM. It is a great game and should be played no matter how, since downloading the ROM won't harm the LEVEL-5 studios since the game is out of print. It is highly addicting, simple, and fun.

Shouldn't Bethesda Just Use The Term "Open World Sandbox"?

Because honestly, after playing through many of Bethesda's post-Morrowind games it seems that everything I do in the game just doesn't matter and in the end I wind up getting the same exact experience that the person across the room got. For example, in Skyrim, when you pick to be either a...

Dark Cloud 3. Woot, Woot.. What Do You Want in It?

I can't say I agree with the idea of "cel shading". I'm hoping they go back to the original fantasy setting of the first one and just expand from there, Dark Cloud 2 was a bit of a dissapointment to me.

Graphics? That's it? Try some C-RPGs from the 90s'.

Poll: Character Development: TV vs. Film

The problem with fictional characters is that you can develope them well, but that does not necessarily make them good or better characters because even their complex personality can become an overused trope or gag. House, MD anyone?
