Anyone else here just melting in their own juices just waiting for this game now?

The original was just a beautiful piece of an era long gone. It was addicting, it was fun and it was created in a time when people still knew how to make proper RPGs without trying to be Bethesda. It was a beautiful time, it was the beginning birth of the Playstation 2. And I must say, while the sequel missed the charm of the original it did improve on some things.

But, my question is, what do you want in the new Dark Cloud that will make it the most...Dark...Cloudey of experience for you?

I guess you refer to this:
http://www.gamespot.com/forums/playstation-nation-1000002/level-5-announces-dark-cloud-3-for-playstation-4-31587847/

With the reaction:

Just have all the elements from Dark Chronicle and I'm satisfied (weapon path upgrades, robots, 2 weapons each character, georama, cel shading) and NO BULLSHIT ONLINE FETAURES!
I can't say I agree with the idea of "cel shading". I'm hoping they go back to the original fantasy setting of the first one and just expand from there, Dark Cloud 2 was a bit of a dissapointment to me.

I completely missed out on the game back in the day, but it looks very cool. Especially the building aspect. (I wonder if there is a simple way to get a copy and play it?) Ascetically I do like the look of 2 more then 1. I like cell shading and the not quite steampunk style. (Though when you look at the difference in style between the two makes you wonder how alike 3 will be to either one.)

I recommend getting an emulator and just downloading the ROM. It is a great game and should be played no matter how, since downloading the ROM won't harm the LEVEL-5 studios since the game is out of print. It is highly addicting, simple, and fun.

That Gamespot thread is ten months old, and says that they would "provide further information at E3 2015." Well, E3 has come and gone, and nothing.
Pretty sure it's a hoax.

As much as that GS thread is ancient news and the chances are slim of anything appearing, I'd buy a PS4, an xbone, or a PS4 stuck to an xbone with old chewing gum and ratty old duct-tape if Dark Cloud 3 was made and released for any of those systems. (Better yet, Level-5 could just do a humble sized release on the 3DS.)

Really, I'd just like to see them continue the improvements of Cloud 2/Chronicle and have more player characters or better fleshed out alt modes if they stick with just two party members. The first game did have more lively towns after rebuilding them with the georama system, rather than the second's "build some crap and stick some settlers in" schtick. Maybe fuse the two concepts together, since DC2 did have more customizing options. Also, DC2 seemed less serious than DC1 at first glance (cel-shading, nursery rhyme type music for the save menu (please drop that), hero's home town not being decimated within the first five minutes).

Finally, it felt like the original game had more dungeon content since the second had one quick beginners' dungeon that Max had to solo through and a chapter were the party had to backtrack through hidden floors in previous dungeons and fight mini-bosses that were recolors of common big enemies. If they are pressed for time and can't get 8 full dungeons put in, I guess at least put some bonus challeges in that are better than fishing (DC1's fishing was better IMO.), minigolf (fun, but fustrating in most areas), and defeating all enemies with a specific weak attack method (*eyes on the slow to level up monster transformation and the ever extensive attack items*).

Really though, I've practically given up hope that both Dark Clouds get remasters/remakes (possibly with Rogue Galaxy and with some fixes to the glitches and botched translation of the first game). It's another great series I loved that is either forgotten or abused,[footnote]At least it wasn't turned into something completely different in all but name and maybe art style, unlike certain franchises.[/footnote] and I can only enjoy the few titles that exist.
