Old Games you remember playing but can't remember the name of.

One of the very first games I ever played was on the TRS-80 (trash-80, as we called it). The game was about saving the people of Atlantis. You had to assign your people to different tasks, which they would need to complete before the volcano erupted. You could assign people to either build a...

Star Wars: The Old Republic Hands On

Even if you don't count the Empire and Republic Classes separately, you have to look at the Advanced Classes as full Classes...because that's what they are. Each Advanced Class has three Skill Trees (like WoW's Talent Trees) and 2-3 roles that it can fill. You can Spec within your AC, but you...

EA's Origin is creepy and watches you sleep!

Tennessee Outlaws Transmission Of Emotionally Distressing Images

Yup. And infomercials. And "The 700 Club". And political ads. Hmm.... Dang! Just when I thought there was nothing good about this law!

"Dumpster Drive" Shares Your Digital Trash With the Internet

Even if you *didn't* have viruses on Macs (even though you do) - you ARE aware of the current Mac Malware problem, right? http://www.zdnet.com/blog/btl/apple-mac-os-x-update-to-put-mac-defender-malware-issue-to-bed/49278?tag=nl.e539 and now - this one...

Blogger Denied Refund for Game EA Won't Let Him Play

It appears obvious to me that the FATHER was the one registering the game. Especially after his repeated contacts with Customer Service. If EA wishes to protect itself, it would be fairly simple for them to require the father to sign a notarized document stating that he (the father) authorizes...

Gold Farmer Sues Over Stolen Real-Life Gold

From what I have researched, she claims that a total of $90,000 worth of items was stolen from her house - $75,000 being the gold bars.

Gold Farmer Sues Over Stolen Real-Life Gold

    - Wouldn't this admission open Ms. Fincham up to an investigation by Blizzard, and possible lawsuit over trademark and intellectual property rights infringement? After all, she is admitting making money off of Blizzard's IP. Normally, I don't believe that a person can, say, make a T-Shirt with...

Bethesda Rewarding Parents That Name Children "Dragonborn"

Actually, they did hint at it. There was a tweet about it being the last week for a try at an 11/11/11 birth or something of that sort.

Bethesda Rewarding Parents That Name Children "Dragonborn"

I have an older brother that goes by his middle name because he hates his first name. Not a big deal. Plus, if telemarketers call asking for, "Alma", he knows that they are telemarketers. I really don't see much of a problem with this promotion - Dovahkiin is a lot better than some names parents...

    #8

I am disabled due to, among other things, Panic Disorder, Anxiety Disorder and PTSD. Almost all of my socialization is done via online interaction instead of IRL interaction (except for my wife and a few close family members). In talking with my doctor about it, I was told that based on what I...

    Critical Miss: #32

The easy solution to the used game market, in my opinion, is DLCs. Keep making them and selling them. They don't transfer with the physical copy of the game, so the new owner has to purchase them for herself. The company thus makes more money. But DON'T gimp what is ON THE BOX! If it comes with...

Question of the Day, August 28, 2010

If used games are piracy (i.e. - theft), then used cars, used TVs, previously owned homes, are all theft as well. If Developers wish to make more money off of a game that may be sold used - do what other industries do - sell parts/add-ons (like DLCs/MTs), but leave the base game alone.

    254: The OCD Gamer

I was diagnosed with "Mild OCD Traits" as they call it. Maybe if I told them about what I do in my gaming, they might think it was a bit more than that. I am an "Alt-O-Holic". I feel a need to have at least one character of each class (and crafting profession...and race if possible). Granted, if...
