I could only play an hour of this game. With all of the bitching that the so called "gaming journalists" have done because of the lack of innovation, there is no way this game should be swimming in 9/10 and 10/10's as well as boasting a 92% on Metacritic. THERE IS NOTHING NEW...
The only things I liked about this game were Lightning (became tied as my favorite character of all time) and the combat. Other than that...I'm sorry, I just don't think it was really that good.

Umm...you are really using outdated info. Final Fantasy XIII sold 6.5 million copies worldwide (4.72 on the PS3 and 1.83 on the XBOX 360) and has a metacritic score of 83% (which is the average score after everything is said and done).

While it is true that you shouldn't expect an epic story line from a fighting game, I'm sure that people were expecting more than a text based cutscene at the end of every characters story line. Heck, even Soul Caliber IV had more of a story, and it reused the same cutscene several times...
