Once I know exactly what else will be in the game, I'll decide whether or not I want it. The characters are awesome (except who the hell is Rocket Raccoon? I knew every other Marvel character from the newcomers and the original except him. I freaking knew who M.O.D.O.K was, but I have never heard of Rocket Raccoon.), but not worth the price. Thankfully I'm subscribed to someone on Youtube who keeps with fighting games, so I can see the features without have to buy it and determine for myself if I want it.

Still, I was hoping Capcom would take the SSF4AE approach: make a disc game so people without the game could have the most up-to-date version and make it DLC for those who have the game already. I gained a lot of respect for Capcom when they did that. You want to know why? Because they did a smart move respecting their customers instead of doing this. So much for that respect...

"Hey, remember that 12 pack you bought?"
"Yeah."
"Well, now it comes in an 18 pack."
"FUCK MY LIFE! I NEED TO SLIT MY WRISTS NOW. CALL MY MOM AND TELL HER THAT I AM GOING TO KILL MY FAMILY."
Actually your comparison is more like this:

The 12 pack that was bought had 4 empty cans labeled :Story Mode (you know with an actual story) ; Spectator Mode ; Online Connection ; and Replay Value.

Don't worry though because our good buddy Capcom said that they can refill some of those cans with upcoming DLC and updates so not to worry! (Months of waiting ensues and tons of shadow battles to ignore and not a damned DLC character beyond Jill and Shuma arrive)

Oh wait...no now they repackaged all their DLC and updates into this 18 pack that they want us to buy. Sorry for buying our half filled 12 pack for full price but now you can buy it again with the same risk for 20$ less.

Can I get some kind of discount when I go to buy this 18 rack since I am a loyal customer or perhaps even buy a few cans seperately via DLC?
"Nope sorry buy the new one full price or GTFO"

Oh and if you were one of those people who preordered from Capcom and had it arrive three weeks late like me then your first beer/beverage explodes in your face when opened. DID I MENTION THAT YOUR 12 PACK IS WARM?

The main reason I didn't buy this game was because I knew Capcom was going release Hyper Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 Turbo Alpha HD Remix featuring Frank West down the line. Turns out I was right, although I'm glad they decided to call it Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 instead.

I have a suggestion to send Capcom a message that they can't get away with this kind of Bull. I suggest that everyone return their copies of Marvel Vs Capcom 3 to what ever store they got it from or trade it in or whatever. Just return it all and send Capcom a message that if they keep doing this kind of crap we won't buy their products.

Let's see now... Multiple versions of the same game ala Street Fighter 4 and Marvel Vs Capcom 3, Check.

Not importing many Monster Hunter games to mainstream systems including the PS3 or 360, instead opting for the Wii, Check.

Making a system for the Portable Resident Evil 3Ds game where you have one and one save file EVER, check.

Fucking canceling Megaman Legends 3, check...

Yup, I'm convinced that Capcom is a bunch of shit head nutters who have no idea what the fuck they are doing anymore.
I'm with you friend. Dark days are here if even Capcom can't be relied upon. WHAT IS HAPPENING TO OUR GAMES!?!?!

Odd. I remember those 2 of those 4 cans being full and chilled. Why the hell would I expect an actual story from a fighting game? As for Replay value... well, I play MvC3 online quite a bit.

While it is true that you shouldn't expect an epic story line from a fighting game, I'm sure that people were expecting more than a text based cutscene at the end of every characters story line. Heck, even Soul Caliber IV had more of a story, and it reused the same cutscene several times. Capcom has really screwed themselves on this one. Marvel vs. Capcom 3 only sold around 1.32 million copies in total. Just how much do they expect to make on a rerelease on basically the same game (a rerelease for Capcom usually ends up selling less than half of what the original did nowadays)? In fact, UMVC 3 is what the original MVC 3 should have been. I think fans are reacting so poorly to this since it has only been eight months since the release of the original game, leading one to believe that Capcom held back content on purpose (12 characters, 8 stages, several game modes, etc. is an awful lot to JUST be DLC that they thought of in the time span of eight months). I also think that general feelings towards Capcom is extremely negative due to the recent cancellation of Mega Man Legends 3, the cancellation of the other Mega Man game, the reboot of the Devil May Cry series, Capcom's recent PR history and this news doesn't help.

Nah, they're just seeing how much they can fuck with the consumer base and get away with it.

They're like the gaming world's version of Geoge Lucas.

Vu Jeda! Still haven't bought the original. So I can still wait. They couldn't goad me with SFIV since I still have the first one and they won't pull this off either. And from what I hear, Jill and Gorath still have to be downloaded ?

So let me get this straight. I totally see this being done more than twice. So if they do this 5 times, it is an extra 5 bucks for each one. Really?

I watched Angry Joe's rant about this and he has some valid points. The comments there are hilarious. There is a guy who actually believes that they couldn't make this DLC because of the earthquake. Who would'a thunk it ? Capcom does have sheep.
