Yep i would do it for 100k a year. I?m pretty sure i could kill my conscience with the old "i didn?t actually make them smoke" argument.

i see no reason for someone to have the need to own a gun, that said i don?t see anything wrong with owning a non automatic rifle for hunting or even just for target shooting. hand guns and automatic rifles i feel should not be allowed to the common folk such as myself.

both books are worth reading, but i would say 1984 is the more influential. this may just be because i read 1984 more recently than catch 22.
