WHile there are some similarities between those series, the plots are actually completely different.

They are called Digimon and Pokemon because the japanese like abbreviations. Pokemon = Pocket Monsters Digimon = Digital Monsters Simple as that.

In the first Digimon season the children are transported into the Digiworld through a portal. They land in a jungle were they meet their Digimon-Partners and go off to fight the Darkness in form of Devimon. Now could anybody tell me how this has anything to do with Pokemon, except for the monsters?

I played both Silent Hill 1 and Shattered Memories and they have pretty much nothing in common. Surely it was announced as a remake, but no real fan of the series would count it as one.
