I'd love to see some open-world game do some more in-depth modeling of mesoscale weather systems. Not like procedurally generated supercells and thermals (then you're getting into "we need a supercomputer for this" territory), but even just something basic like the generic "stormy" weather mode...
I expect the split is more "Everything after Jedi is out, while only certain things before Jedi are out." For example, I expect Rogue Planet or Outbound Flight might just get dropped entirely since they're mostly exposition for later stories, while more independent (or movie-related) stories...
I thought they only axed the post-Jedi EU? After all the hubub around Force Unleashed, I'd be really surprised if they don't bring that into the new canon, and jury is still out on the Old Republic era stuff, a lot of that really wouldn't have much impact on the Rise of the Empire Era even with...
Worst case of fandom infighting I've ever seen was when Stargate Atlantis was cancelled for Stargate Universe. A lot of fans of the original spinoff were under the impression that trashing the new show would somehow bring both back, and surely enough the new show was never really able to get its...
Cautiously optimistic seeing Luceno involved. He was one of the better writers when it came to tying up loose cannons. If there's an author I trust to keep as much of the "old" universe as possible, it's him. Heck, Darth Plagueis is a masterpiece of weaving together the disjointed continuity...
You can absolutely get all of the endings without playing multiplayer. Multiplayer just makes it a little easier to get certain endings without doing as many side-missions.
The podracing game that came out with Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Better on the Dreamcast, I later found out, but still very fun on the N64!
Other than that I'm pretty sure everything I owned on that console was pretty well regarded.
I'm a little disappointed, but hey, at least Crucible was a decent finale for the old series of novels, IMO. I really quite enjoyed the whole Abeloth/Mortis arc that the Legacy novels did.
Most of my NES education came via the ones you could unlock in the original Animal Crossing (my console gaming started in the SNES era), but I do quite enjoy the music from Balloon Fight. It was even my ringtone for a while until I replaced it with a clip of John Hurt screaming about a fez.
There was a book series called "Animorphs" when I was a kid that played around with that premise as it wound down. I mean obviously the reader was going to be on the side of the humans fighting to save humans, but they did some pretty disturbing stuff towards the end and more than once the "bad"...
If anyone is looking for novels that play in this "who are the real bad guys" space, here's a few of my favorites:
"Cloak of Deception" by James Luceno: sets the stage for Phantom Menace, giving a lot more background to the Trade Federation, Palpatine, the old Chancellor, and the political...
