So I'm watching Gundam Wing and it reminded me of a debate back in the day of whether or not Heero and the gang were terrorists or freedom fighters.

Thinking about this.
Who do YOU think are the biggest terrorists/freedom fighters in fiction?

There was a book series called "Animorphs" when I was a kid that played around with that premise as it wound down. I mean obviously the reader was going to be on the side of the humans fighting to save humans, but they did some pretty disturbing stuff towards the end and more than once the "bad" guys pointed that out.

Don't know if they're the biggest, but the crew of the Liberator (Blake's 7) certainly had an impact on science fiction at the time when the show was aired, and on the works that came later.

I think LeLough from Code Geass is probably one of the biggest. A small group of insurgents fight against the most powerful empire in the world. I'd add some more, but that would spoiler so much. Let me just say LeLough is a bloody genius at both tactics and politics.

Second for Lelouch from Code Geass. I love how he insists early on that they are not merely terrorists, terrorists would never win against an empire. What they need is an army.

I freaking love that guy.
