I agree with this. I'm plenty bored of "bring back the "light" to save the world". Reviving the fat parent was an utterly cheap plot beat, and then there's the "good" tree, whose light burns owl chicklets in their nest. Why am I trying to save it?

Characterization/fan service. Even a crap story keeps fighting games from being too dry and mechanical. Without some minimal lore, you might as well be playing with ASCII characters.

Why didn't stinky throw up? How could they miss that? Out of all the possible characters throwing up, stinky would be the funniest
