Black Ops II: it looks surprisingly good

My question: Why the hell are they calling this Black Ops 2? It seems to have absolutely nothing to do with the first game (Not that this is a bad thing. The story of Black Ops was awful, and I found it disgusting. Same with MW2 and MW3). I don't see why they'd try to tie it back to Black...

most mediocre game you've ever played

One of the most frustratingly mediocre games I've ever played is without a doubt GTA IV. Dear god. That game was so boring, tedious, stupid, unplayable, and generally shit that I can't understand why it got so many 10/10s. The most benignly mediocre game I've ever played is probably...

Realism in Games, What do you think?

I personally feel like "realism" is often an excuse on the part of the developer to be lazy. The first example that comes to mind is people justifying GTA IV's god-freakin'-awful vehicle controls, and the crappy physics in general, by saying "It's R* trying to be realistic." I definitely...

Poll: Games you didn't like but were supposed to

GTA IV. I HATED this game SO FUCKING MUCH, and I don't get what people see in it. It's a mediocre, poorly written, overrated mess of a game, and I hate it more than I've ever hated anything.

I don't know. I actually really enjoyed getting the achievement in Bioshock for beating the game on hard without using any vita-chambers. It was an excuse to play Bioshock again and take it seriously. Same with One Free Bullet, that wasn't hard.

Halo... Or How To Gain A False Idea Of Milking A Franchise...

Well, I'd say releasing a graphic novel, three series of comic books, an anime, and 6 written novels is a form of milking a franchise. Rockstar milks GTA, and Valve milks Half-Life, but at least I never have to go out and buy a book to understand part of Half Life's backstory. Furthermore, I...

A Princess Worth Saving: Mirror's Edge

Mirror's Edge is to video games what The Talking Heads are to music. Regardless of what you think, you owe to yourself to play it through once, because there's nothing else quite like it. That being said, I didn't really like Mirror's Edge (I do however LOVE The Talking Heads). It was fun the...
