The green circle is probably Lifeward, which does not make them immune to anything. What it does is heal them automatically once their health is reduced to 0. You can remove that kind of spell with Alistair's Cleanse, or with Dispel Magic.

Came here to suggest this. I think it'd be a perfect fit. They've shown they're really good at adapting established properties and writing enthralling stories. Set it before Serenity and there's so much they could do with the Firefly crew...

ME3 is such a mixed bag, but I can't say I dislike it. It just could have been much better if it hadn't been rushed and subjected to a change in lead writer. I would say I like them all, for different reasons.
