Jim & Yahtzee's Rhymedown Spectacular: Metal Gear Solid: The Ghostly Ouchies

Oh my stars, I laughed so hard at Jim's I had to watch it twice. Thanks for that, good sir!

Jim & Yahtzee's Rhymedown Spectacular: The Dark Syde

Not only did Jim's American accent make me laugh, but the phrase "exploit buggy English" was particularly clever. :)

Are there song covers you prefer to the originals?

Thom Yorke's cover of Roxy music's "2HB." (Which is hard to admit because I love love love Bryan Ferry.) Rush's acoustic cover of The Yardbirds's "Heart Full of Soul." Matthew Good's cover of Dead Kennedys "Moon Over Marin" is equal to the original. APC's cover of Failure's "The Nurse Who...

Jim & Yahtzee's Rhymedown Spectacular: Whine Out Of Ten

No, I'd want to see it too. :) OT, thanks Jim & Yahtzee for brightening my Wednesday!

Jim & Yahtzee's Rhymedown Spectacular: House on the Hill

I think both, personally. I think "video game-themed dadaist fetish poetry" sums it up perfectly & only Jim can give me my fix. :)

    Jim & Yahtzee's Rhymedown Spectacular: To Kill a Microsoft-bird

Fun with pirate speak & flow'ry ballads! Thanks guys, this made me smile after my long workday.

Jim & Yahtzee's Rhymedown Spectacular: Because I Could Not Stop For Loading Times

Whoever said that Jim's poems were like other people's comments from a thread--I think that was the point. Especially with every smug smile afterward. I also enjoyed the contrast between Jim's smiles & Yahtzee's oh-so-serious demeanor. You guys play off of each other well. Great job this week!

Jim & Yahtzee's Rhymedown Spectacular: To Game Or Not To Game

I did too. Then when he got to, "Some days you're just an office desk I've pushed on it's side" I lost it again. And then when Jim's came on, I was laughing out loud again by the time he got to the third "I died". Love this new series! Can't wait for next week.

    Masthead Loyalty

I think you are both right about quality or content changes. I think a good editor can really set the tone & if they leave, it's difficult to get used to a new person. I was just curious if anyone else would follow an editor who left, but I do think people are more interested in content...

    Masthead Loyalty

So, when I like a print or online magazine, I follow the editors as well as the writers. (Just a networking thing I do as a freelancer in case I'm interested in writing for the publication.) The other online site I follow as much as The Escapist is AV Club, which on Friday announced more of...

Jim & Yahtzee's Rhymedown Spectacular: Quoth the Gamer

I second this. Make it happen, Escapist! Also, Jim, I really like your notebooks. (But then again, I buy blank journals obsessively.) Great job, Jim & Yahtzee!

Jim & Yahtzee's Rhymedown Spectacular: A Tale of Two Poets

*snap snap snap snap* Digging the hep open mic coffeehouse vibe here, Escapist. Looking forward to more. (Comment is best read in a sleepy public radio voice.) :)

Escape to the Movies: Warm Bodies

Also, before Stephanie Meyer hit, a YA writer by the name of Amelia Atwater Rhodes was doing a series of similar books about vampire & werewolf clans in a New England town. And before there was Amelia Atwater Rhodes, there was Annette Curtis Klause, who did books like The Silver Kiss & the...

Retail jobs: the dumbest customer question you've been asked?

I was waiting for a fellow bookseller to post something like this. When I worked at Borders, I would get the same questions. A similar incident I remember was a girl who wanted a copy of the Kama Sutra. There were many different copies of the Kama Sutra on the shelf, so I asked her if she...

    Favorite unkown actors

Platoon by Oliver Stone. He's Tom Berenger's right hand man & he cries before he has to go back into battle. What do I win? :) Edit: Sorry, looks like a bunch of others beat me to it. Edit again: I love those two also. I tracked down copies of Wise Blood & Heaven's Gate just...
