So, when I like a print or online magazine, I follow the editors as well as the writers. (Just a networking thing I do as a freelancer in case I'm interested in writing for the publication.) The other online site I follow as much as The Escapist is AV Club, which on Friday announced more of their writers/editors leaving as a result of losing their editor-in-chief earlier this year. This announcement got me thinking about the other magazines/sites I've stopped reading as a result of an editorial change. (Example: I'm waiting to see how well Oxford American does under their new editor before I decide whether or not to stop subscribing.)
So my question, Escapists, is whether or not whose in charge on the editorial staff matters to you. Would you stop reading The Escapist and follow an editor (like Susan) to their new publication if they left? Or would you keep reading as long as the content still interested you?
