    I just finished reading "The Fate of the Fallen" by Ian Irvine. Anyone who hasn't tried any of his novels and is a fantasy fan should definitely give them a shot. http://www.ian-irvine.com/ I suggest starting out with his "View from the Mirror" quartet because it adds a lot of backstory...

    The Longest Journey should work on any old laptop. Great game. Also for consoles, Indigo Prophecy, Beyond Good and Evil.
