Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary Portal 2 Team Fortress 2 Definitely the best games of this gen. I know Portal 2 isn't technically a FPS, but it is in first person and you have a gun. Enough said.

The Portal Gun. :D Joking obviously, but seriously, the worst weapon I have used in a video game would be the Lightning Bolt cannon for the Deuce in Brutal Legend. Why on Earth would I use that slow firing hunk of rubbish, when I can have rapid fire missile launchers instead?

You might want to check out Brutal Legend in that case. It has a massive open world map with loads of different side quests and loads of things to collect as well. Don't be put off by the RTS aspect, once you play through it, you'll never look back :D
