I recommend Alan Moore's Promethea, a story about the immeasurable power of stories.
Warren Ellis' Planetary, which is kind of like a an alternate world where the Fantastic Four is evil. Or more specifically it assumes that any group that is so powerful, wealthy...
OMG! You made me sign in after 6 months. Six months. Simply because no one mentioned Ian M. Banks.
I mean really people: Ian M. Banks. Read "Excession" of course and read "Feersum Endjinn" too, but anything else really.
And also Charles Stross, but not nearly so much, read "Halting State".
I'm likin' it pretty well. The setting is interesting and the NPCs are fun. It is innovative and the limited character choice works with the story.

Interplay beacuse they shutdown Black Isle.
Also, IMHO HL2 is linear and kinda boring and there are like 3 enemies in the whole game. Sure the level design is nice, but there's no replay value and the episodes are seriously meh.
There are 11,000 people playing BF Bad Co 2 on the pc at this very instant and over 1.9 million individual logins in total. Yep, guess no one's playing. Actually I'd be playing now, but the servers are too full.
I believe there are only 2 words necessary to explain the superiority of the...
