Addendum to my post: when I say to watch Escaflowne, watch the original TV series, which is far superior to the film version that came after. The series itself is only one season long - 24 eps. I believe - so it's not a huge commitment of your time. Happy hunting!

If high-fantasy sword-n-sorcery is your kick, try Escaflowne. It's quite good.

I found a lot of Bioshock to be disturbing, to be honest. The Dr. Steinman level (esp. the audio diary "Not What She Wanted"), the Sander Cohen level ("The Wild Bunny"), and the murdered family in Apollo Square.

I'd have to say that I'm a sucker for attractive character designs. I'm totally shallow when it comes to the overall look of a game. If I'm forced to choose between style and substance, style always wins out.
