Watching poor innocent Alistair try and move away from Morrigan in the ritual scene, poor boy looks very worried...........
What? It disturbed me!
I found that scene amusing, since I could totally identify them with it - Alistair, the whiny male lead who's yet again forced by the circumstances to do something he'd rather not do, and Morrigan - the "evil temptress" who gets her pleasure handed to her. Being able to save my PC's life with this was more or less an extra :p I was expecting something more of a scene that calls itself a blood magic ritual though..

At least the scene is the same if, instead of Alistair it's your main character going to bed with her. Haven't tried it with Loghain yet but I suppose it's not anymore different.
I wonder, from a male gamer's view what that scene is like if you are in a relationship with her? How does that work? Cos surely it is not so much a ritual as it is 'alone together time'?
Just curious, I assume it is the same scene!
Just in my game I obviously have to persuade Alistair to do it, and she says to him that he won't hate it as much as he thinks (in front of me, too, the cheeky mare)

Whether you're in a relationship or not with her has no bearing on this cutscene. The only actual difference is that you don't have to go to the other room and convince an NPC to do it. You get to choose whether to do it or not, no persuasion check required. And I assume this only works on human male characters, though I can't check that yet since I've only made one male character so far. I liked the female models, and it's a bit embarassing to admit it, but I learnt from DA forum topics that women in DA:O look like men, that they've used the same skeleton for both - I didn't notice that ><

Those zombie creatures from Ocarina of Time always disturbed me and so did a lot of things in Majora's Mask, the moon for instance.
Ugh. Why did they have to give it a face?!

I'm gonna go with the infamous chase scene at the end of the first Condemned. Getting chased by a serial killer through a normal house is incredibly unsettling.

The Olga death scene in Mgs2 was pretty fucked up.
Speaking of Metal Gear Solid, number 4 actually was able to beat this.
You command snake to walk through a LONG hallway full of microwaves, literally cooking him alive when his body is aged to 80 or so years. The only thing keeping him going (his muscle suit thing) is popping as you go along. Then his eyepatch explodes right in his face. Part of the way through this Snake falls to his knees and is forced to crawl and the game then only allows you to 'cheer him on' by pressing triangle.
During this his health will deplete to nothing and he'll be kept alive only by willpower alone (which quickly drains as well). Sure this scene doesn't look like much but when you start to think about what's actually happening it goes straight to disturbing.

I was really horrified in Quake 4 during the
stroggification process

But the very first thing in my childhood that made me recoil from terror was the rabbit head on a stick at the end of Doom 2. It simply looked so frigging scary.

The wall monsters in Dead Space are pretty disturbing. The screams of agony just chill me to the core. The most recent one is the gore in L4D2. It doesn't disturb me TOO much, but it is pretty gross.

Thought as much, surely it ought to differ slightly, iygwim, less trepidation more anticipation......

I found a lot of Bioshock to be disturbing, to be honest. The Dr. Steinman level (esp. the audio diary "Not What She Wanted"), the Sander Cohen level ("The Wild Bunny"), and the murdered family in Apollo Square.

Actually thinking about it, the most disturbing thing in any game is the way Voldo from Soul Calibur moves *shudders* Gives me the wiggins........

the dividers in dead space were pretty scary and disturbing, their howl was the worst.
but the top ones got to be giygas, the final boss in earthbound, which haunted my dreams as a child

Having just seen Irreversible for the first time, I find it hard to think of any game that could ever disturb me to that extreme...

Episode 2's ending is the only thing I can think of that left me shaken.

What?! How dare you! It got the point across, and did so well! The line was admittedly bizaare, but c'mon, give Dante a break! Your voice would crack if the girl you liked got lasered in the face!

OT: For me, probably when you walk through the labyrinth in SH2. I really wasn't expecting to see Pyramid Head there. Oh, and also, when the little sisters cry "Mr Bubbles!". That kinda freaked me out first time around.

Silent Hill 3 Fetus eating had to be the most disturbing moment in a game. o_O

I did NOT see that coming. >.<
