Back when all of this gaming stuff first gained mainstream popularity, console gaming didn't have internet access that's all.
These days there isn't much difference except PC gaming can have a much higher quality standard since they're so much more powerful
I still prefer using both consoles...
Playing it on the PC does have a lot of benefits though and most prefer it, but technically yeah you could exclusively play on consoles if one so desired
it's in many languages including english yeah and since the new expansion came out this month you can find it most stores in North America. (walmart best buy etc, or online like amazon.com etc)
Yeah it was one of the few groundbreaking MMO back then which let players worldwide play freely...

Dark souls definitely isn't for everyone yeah. A hardcore could rush through and get co-op capability in 10 minutes but it's going to take the average person a lot longer on their first playthrough, an hour is generous. (Your friend could however, plan ahead and get ready so you can summon him...
