Tropes vs Women SECOND VIDEO - "Damsel in Distress: Part 2"

Asking people to take a nuanced and complicated look at games comes across as a bit shallow when she repeatedly uses Dishonored as an example. The Empress's gender has nothing at all to do with the violence she suffers to drive the plot and any romantic entanglement between her and Corvo exist...

''Wait... they're voiced by the same person?!''

Steve Blum. To the point that I could fill up this whole text field with JUST HIS CREDITS. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wr4a-kyzQ14&feature=youtu.be Short version; He's Rodger Smith from Big O, Spike from Cowboy Bebop, Guillmon from Digimon, Wolverine, Grunt from Mass Effect, Tom from...

    Mass Effect 3: The movement

Many of the people on the Escapist that have piped up about the ending clearly did not understand the ending. Makes it hard to take you saying it's intellectually dishonest seriously. Was it wrong to call out the Fox News commentator that called Mass Effect a debached sex simulator out...

The Big Picture: Mutants and Masses

Bob reminds us all that he doesn't know what he is talking about. The ME 3 endings fail as art, a narrative, or as game play. This wasn't a daring choice to take a risk, this was a stupid person ruining a massive collaborative work. Now the game has this awful ending on it while it's...

BioShock Creator "Sad" Over ME3's Ending Scandal

The endings to ME 1 and 2 worked from a gameplay and narrative perspective, closing the story in a satisfying way that also -seemed- to offer a last choice that would be explored later. In ME one, a major battle up the side of the citadel tower, followed by a fight up the steps of the...

BioShock Creator "Sad" Over ME3's Ending Scandal

You can defend the ending and claim that, as art, it shouldn't be changed to reflect the desires of the people that will buy it. It's shitty art, however. The ending is crap from every possible perspective (artistic, narrative, game play..) Calling something art doesn't make it immune to...

If you voted for Obama or you're a Muslim, you better not try to learn gun safety in Texas

It's quite possible he runs a private gun club. In that case, he can refuse service on any grounds, no matter how silly. I'm just going to assume the people saying "only in America" are rather confused about racism. The United States doesn't have a monopoly on racism or religious phobias...

Sword of the Stars 2 released in unfinished, broken state

Just though I'd warn anyone that might be considering this pile of trash, but it was rushed out with most features missing and a terrible and unpolished user interface. It's sufficiently bad that the publisher is offering refunds. Don't buy.

    Ways to deal with overpopulation

Population growth is flat or slightly negative in the developed world when you factor for immigration. The solution to overpopulation is the same way this problem was solved in Brazel. 1: Create sufficient security to allow the rest. 2: Create an economy above the level of subsistence...

(For the more computer savvy) Can this motherboard hold the GTX 560?

You can find a cheap case online, but shipping hits you for it. Your better off looking at a local PC supply place, given that you can get a very cheap old case. If all else fails for air flow, you can always cut the case and install another fan or two, or just air intakes. Cut, add mesh, done.

    Top 5 Buggiest Releases

Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Danor. A special mention because it was terrible bugged, and the uninstall was bugged badly enough that if used it could DELETE YOUR HARD DRIVE. While many bugs are bad, most only ruin the game, not have the ability to brick your computer. Fallout 2. Anything...

I always play games on easy.

I play games like most modern first person shooters on normal, where you don't really know how close you come to getting killed. I might beat levels without dieing, but it still feels like I got hit and had to work for it. I play frustrating games on easy, like Bayonetta. Games where death...

    Games that no one remembers...

War Inc. An awesome RTS where you researched and designed your own units in between taking mercenary contracts all over the world. You started with just basic infantry and jeeps, and got powered armor and crazy hover tanks. Came out in '97. I don't think anyone else ever played it. Also...
