Halo grenades for sure, but I'm also a fan of the grenade disks in Mass Effect. The customizable effects are neat, toxic and cryo nades for nice debuffs, or HE to send chumps flying across the room.

Depends on the game. FPS - game focus with fast or driving metal in the background. MMO - can sometimes read / do homework for monotonous tasks (PVP/Raiding see above)

I've always liked the concept of the Strogg from the Quake series personally, something about an alien race that's sole purpose is to seek you out, invade your planet and re-purpose your entire race as extra parts and edible paste is totally wicked in my books.
