I would say where they went wrong was deciding to emphasized emotions at the expense of logic, which really started with "The Arrival." They basically wrote the game to make the audience feel certain things but just didn't care if it actually made sense or is consistent with previous lore.

The Advent seems really weak, especially the rebels. The rebel Advent Titan's 6th level ability is terrible, especially since only one ability benefits from it.

I haven't had any crashes while I was playing but I have had a few starting up and ending a game. The higher difficulty AI is pretty broken. It spams super weapons like crazy. The Rebel Advent also has a bug where it only build capital ships.
