    Difficult "Kiddie" Games

To Clarify: When I say "kiddie," I mean kid friendly games in terms of content, or who they are intended to appeal to. Disney games and Mario are good examples. Loveable cartoony characters but the game is a real challenge. Also, when I say difficult, I mean actually challenging as opposed...

    Good JRPGs

This is a little OT, but are they any good jrpgs where you don't have to grind? I ususally straight to the end of the game to finish the story only to find that I need to gain an extra 10-20 levels just to beat the last boss. It really takes away from the flow of the storyline :( :( Zelda...

The sandbird level was the one that made me put the game away for about a year :)

    Difficult "Kiddie" Games

Hi all, I have recently gone back and tried to finish Super Mario Sunshine for the gamecube. I noticed that I keep getting owned in the platforming levels and dying quite alot. Since game overs/extra lives don't really mean anything in the game it isn't such a big deal, but I thought this...

Why so much hate for Turn Based Games?

I forgot about RISK! Risk might be the best turn based game I have ever played. Risk on the PC is also faster than the Risk board game. Also, on the PC it is easier to get 5 other opponents to play against you.

Why so much hate for Turn Based Games?

I wish there were MORE turn based strategy games. My problem with strategy games in general is the amount of micromanagement involved. When you play an RTS the amount of micro just gets compounded as your army gets bigger. At the end of the CIV games, each turn takes about an hour to...

    Best/Favourite Stories in a Game?

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Ultima 7. It is without a doubt the greatest story I have ever seen played out in a video game. It was made in 1992/3? so the gameplay and graphics are rather dated at this point, but the story blows everything out of the water. Ultima 7: Best story ever...

    Games that disappointed you

Metal Gear Solid 2: Just last week I finally got a chance to play through this game. I had the PC version for 5 years, but my system requirements were too low. I finally picked up the PS2 version in the used bargain bin. I had played the Tanker Level about 4 times (this level is still...

Creating Games for Legacy systems and late adopters

Dear diemkay, Either I do not understand your logic, or I do not understand your pun, or I need to take more marketing classes :) I will reply to your comments in ths post and restate the question in a different way in the next. "there is no consumer market not yet segmented" The...

Creating Games for Legacy systems and late adopters

Marketing 101 teaches to find and serve segments of the population that are currently not being met. With 1 in 3 households in America owning a PS2 it seems like there would be quite a market for creating high quality triple A games on older systems. If the success of the Wii Virtual Console...
