Some of the best Marines I've served with were women. My RT during my last tour in Iraq was phenomenal, and just happened to have breasts. I think the lioness program is pretty cool. My units corpsman knows more about MOUT than any reservist I've met (she has over ten years of police experience...
Saying that Bioware is lazy when they made a game like ME is awe inquiringly stupid. A huge amount of work went into the games, and just because they screwed up a few small doesn't make them lazy. Even if you sincerely dislike the game, you can't deny they put a lot of time and energy into it.
I was never really impressed with the gameplay in ME. If they could do something (anything) about that, I'd be happy; but honestly, gameplay isn't why I play the games. In terms of storytelling, my one major gripe is the lack of gay male Shepard in 1, and the lack of any gay Shepard in 2.
I'm not a huge social gamer, so MMOs, and especially MMORPGs have never appealed to me. I'm also not big on sim or sports games. I have found exceptions to the last two, but not the first (Tropico and PGR respectively).
We laugh at the weirdest shit in the Corps. A guy in my unit got shot in the ass (got sent home for it too), and we laugh. What do we call shrapnel? Internal body bling.
Maybe we feel that anything we can laugh at can't be that big of a deal; or anything we find funny, we can beat.
