It all depends on the game. Shooters can be anywhere from 10-20. RPGs are best if they last aroun 30-50. Adventure games can be any length really. It all depends. You can't really fit all games into one set length it should be.

It seems like you like to play games with your friends more than by yourself, so only thing I would say is find more multiplayer games that your friends are playing.

Most PC strategy games. I want to like them so bad, and I'll try a bunch of different ones to see if one will actually be enjoyable, but once I finally understand most of the basics I'm way too bored to even touch the game anymore.
