I'm a pretty big fan of JRPG's. I'd like to qualify that statement, however, by saying that just like every other genre of games, there is a awful lot of crap to sort through to find the gems.

I gotta agree with this. There is some decent stuff if you dig deep enough, but Hip Hop is easily the hardest genre to find it in. 99% of it seems to be crap, but if you look hard enough, that 1% is still excellent. FWIW I'm a rock fan, so my opinion may be skewed on this.
