Depends on how final the retribution. In my time in the US Navy I found that dead pirates have a hard time getting revenge. Which isn't to say one should kill all transgressors. In the world of friendships and relationships some spoken or even unspoken agreement for redemption can be achieved.

I'll agree with you on Arcanum, I won't discuss Star Wars, and I totally agree on Loghain. Probably the most interesting cardboard cutout that game had to offer. Really a waste of a talented voice actor on such a poorly animated and rendered model. But as a character he is the one I can relate...

Revenge generally. Whether it takes the form of deliberate action or future contempt for that individual until they specifically redeem themselves. Forgiveness is weak and invites more transgressions. Forgiveness is a handout, redemption is an action.

A little maturity wouldn't hurt. I find alot of mature topics are still handled either stupidly or without any sense of their gravity (romance and sex in recent Bioware games).

We really can't say, its never our value judgement because we're judging someone else's actions in contrast to our own. I really must question the reason in assaulting a shut in who does nothing but play video games. When does one even see him if he's sedentary in some burrow?

Games like Amnesia, where your character is mentally frail and physically helpless. Taking that control away, suddenly eliminates illusions of badassitude from the already generally overcompensating gamer population. Its nice to be told you can shoot someone, and its nice to think you've gotten...

I would agree that there was a good story underlying Arcanum, but it was so muddled because of the virtually unfinished interface that it was hard to tell what had to do with what most of the time. I truly wish that game had been finished. As for KOTOR 2, I never thought I'd meet someone else...

Planescape Torment. The only game to send me into a depressive state because I knew when I finished it that I would probably never run into anything like it ever again. And I still haven't.

Overly emotional behavior. Deliberate stupidity. Socialist/hippie/collectivist/communist/egalitarian tendencies.

Humanity will more than likely go extinct long before anything of substance(relative) happens to the Earth. And it won't happen quickly, we'll slowly die out, like most of the species on the planet.
