Candy Crush Saga Dev Attempts to Block Banner Saga Trademark

If you read the original pdf (here [http://ttabvue.uspto.gov/ttabvue/ttabvue-91214235-OPP-1.pdf]) you will see that the SAGA series owned by King began in late 2011: "[King] used its SAGA Marks at least as early as 2011, which is prior to [Stoic]'s January 10, 2013 filing date and alleged...

Recommend me some point-and-click adventure games!

I'd also like to add Time Gentlemen, Please! and Ben There, Dan That! (link [http://store.steampowered.com/app/37400/?snr=1_7_15__13]). The graphics might be a detriment for some, but the story is very comedy focused and nonsensical; and the game is very self aware of being an adventure game...

GLaDOS Joins Dota 2 as Announcer Next Week

Unfortunately, they will be changing that, it seems. They will update the economic part of the game by removing items from the drop rotation and from the store, to be only acquired by buying from other player on the Market. That's the only thing I hate about Valve's F2P games, that they stop...

    Difficulty without bullet sponges?

As I usually play strategy games, a higher difficulty means a brighter enemy A.I. Usually games will just outright give bonus resources to the A.I. the higher the difficulty is, which equals to a bullet sponge on shooters. But better games will have enemies that react better to the player...

So Steam is now promoting Early-Access Games. What do you think?

I rather like it. Some games, like Don't Starve, already did something similar, where you pre-purchase the game and get early beta access. I was eagerly awaiting for some of these games to get to Steam (I have no international credit card, so I can only buy from digital stores that allow...

Playing a Support Role in Multiplayer Games

My favorite heroes in DOTA 2 are Lion, Ogre Magi and Crystal Maiden. Like others have said, there is much less pressure for you to do your best, and, like Daystar said, I like helping others become stronger. Although I find last hitting easy, I usually just harrass the enemy hero and deny our...

    Simcity Apology Games announced

They may add a warning later on Origin, but it is already valid for anyone activating/buying the game between the launch and march 25.

Poll: How do you feel about 'casual' gamers?

The industry is big enough to accommodate all kids of gamers, although I don't know what defines casual or hardcore gamers. If I want something quick I have my roguelikes ("Dungeons of Dredmor", "FTL", "Hack, Slash, Loot"), if I want something easy I have "Plants vs Zombies", or "Triple Town"...

    Your Go-To DoTA 2 Hero

Lion. I love playing the support role, and Lion has everything a support needs: a stun, a mana "generating" spell, a second disable and a high-damaging spell.

    Just a quick question.

It was made to work with controllers. I tested with my Xbox controller and it works fine. The game has only 4 main buttons, plus the movement keys and pause, afaik.

Kixeye Countersuit Gives Zynga Both Barrels

Paul Preece, their Creative Executive, is the same guy behind Desktop Tower Defense, a very decent TD flash-based game.

    War of Roses

I bought it and, although I haven't played it a lot, I am having a lot of fun with it. There are several north american servers, many of them are constantly full and I expect more servers to be created soon.

    Good Indie Steam Games

Also try Dungeons of Dredmor. It is a great roguelike with lots of humor and content. It can also be modded and uses the Steam Workshop for that.

    Do games, NEED story?

It depends on the focus of the game, so I would have to say no. Games can have different kinds of stories, some depend on it to move the player forward, while others have optional stories that the player may skip completely. There are even games with 0 story, except the one you create. There...

    Pirate Bay Promotes Indie Game

This reminds of the time that the devs from "No Time to Explain" released their own game on Pirate Bay, with the addition of a pirate hat to the main character and a message asking people to consider buying the game. They believe they sold a lot more copies because of that move.
