Sexy Hiking. No, really. It's an actual game, made by some guy named Jazzuo. Infuriatingly difficult, poorly designed, buggy - - and completely awesome.

An interesting and well-written article. AGS is a more powerful engine than you may think, though, and some games of a very high quality have been made using it. Check out the ones made by our very own Yahtzee, for example.

Ha! Good stuff. I love the way you position the camera to see emotions in the avatars - the last frame is classic. Morrowind struck me as having the same problem. "I have some rats in my house. They're eating up my pillows. Kill them." Sheesh...

Yes! Actually, I just picked up Watchmen from the library and am reading it for the first time. I didn't know they were making it into a movie... cool coincidence, I guess. I just hope they don't ruin it - it has so much potential. Darn, I can't stream video on this connection. Does...

As I understand it, materialism is not something someone does. I always it was the "He who dies with the most toys wins" philosophy. Either that or valuing things more than people. So, in response to defcon, I would say that yes, materialism is bad, but I don't think you are a materialist...

A gentleman is anyone who falls into either of the following two categories: 1. Someone who has had their heart broken by the world's most beautiful woman. 2. Yahtzee. I fall into the first group, but strive to emulate the second in many regards.

Mechanics of Materials. We got to stretch steel until it broke! We got to freeze steel and smash it with a hammer! We also had to wright freaking long lab reports every two weeks (~20 pages). But it was still awesome.

Mount and Blade might classify, if you chose to use archery/crossbows... Either way, you should play it for the sheer awesometasticism of it all. Especially if you enjoy the historical-esque feel.

Look into some of the adventure games by Telltale or even some good interactive fiction if you're looking for a good story. I agree that the quality of stories in games is (generally) on the downswing... unfortunately. I hope this changes soon.
