You mention Shadow of the Colossus, but not ICO? I am disappoint.
Seriously, though, both games are fantastic examples of games as art. If we start canonizing games, those two should be the first ones in.

I think the better word would be "trying their hardest." If Konami was actually doing their best, they'd be leaving with a lot more grace than they are now. There's a lot of things Konami could've done to make their exit from the games industry smoother and with much better reception, but...

I want The Last Guardian, but that alone's not enough to convince me to pick up a PS4. It's gonna need more games that interest me. Lack of backwards compatibility is going to be a problem as well. I've considered the Wii U, which is doing better in the games...
It may have something to do with their move from console gaming to mobiles, and their focus on their other venues of revenue. I'm not sure what advantage burning bridges would have here, but then again, Konami hasn't been acting too intelligent lately.
House centipedes freak me out, even though I've read they're fairly harmless and actually eat quite a few pests. I think it has something to do with the sheer amount of legs they have and how freakin' fast they are.
I wonder if those same people would still consider games as art. If that's true, why shouldn't we analyze them? People do that for other forms of media. If games are an art form, shouldn't they deserve the same treatment?
