Your Biggest," Holy crap," moment in a game

Not too proud to admit it, I cried like a baby all through the end of MGS3.

Your Biggest," Holy crap," moment in a game

The "Would you kindly..." reveal was amazing. Made me want to start the game over before I had even finished. Made lots of dialogue fresh on the second playthrough. The nuke in COD4:MW always pops to mind as the definition of "oh shit!" moments. Your first encounter with an El Gigante in...

    Unskippable: Final Fantasy XII

Great name for a band there at the end. Reasonable Haircuts.

Why aren't you a vocal one.

Beth Gibbons, lead singer of Portishead. She defines the word "haunting". Now I have to put Third in my CD player.

Best voice-over work in a video game, All-Time.

Good one! So good I didn't notice it was him the first time I played. Played again after a Robot Chicken binge and wondered "how did I miss that?" OT: I should thank Seth Green and Robot Chicken for gearing my ears up to Yahtzee's speed. I'm old and I like subtitles.

Best voice-over work in a video game, All-Time.

Perhaps Aur0ra145 didn't read the subject line or my original post because there is no mention of voice-over work there. The female narrator in that clip did remind me of a great one I forgot however... Linda Hunt in the God of War games. She may win if I had to pick a winner. One of the...

What do you feel like playing right now?

I hit the brick wall of burn-out on Fallout 3 the other day and it's been tough to find anywhere to go from there. New Vegas is the obvious choice. But I don't own it, can't afford it, and it appears to be buggy as hell. Must be the Radroaches. Maybe I'll dust off the PS2 for some Killer 7...

Best voice-over work in a video game, All-Time.

Holy shit has she worked a lot. Naomi Campbell and Emma Emmerich from the Metal Gear series. And you are so right in regards to Mass Effect. Female Shephard felt like role-playing. Male Shephard, not so much.

Games you like but no one else seems to know about/like/understand

Killer 7 for sure, but it's easy to see why some don't "get" it. Not a lot of multiple personality/rail-shooter/puzzle/stone-cold freak-out games for comparison. My nephew was scared off by the laughing logos before the title screen. I still love that game. Beyond Good and Evil should have...

What is your favorite and least Favorite Final Fantasy and why?

Am I the only person on earth who like FF X-2? Get past the first couple hours of hideous J-pop and it was really quite good. I am a 40+ hetero male so this was not easy for me. If you can get over the idea that the magic system is like dolly dress-up time it was possibly the best magic system...

Best voice-over work in a video game, All-Time.

Good one. I forgot about the whole "A man chooses, a slave obeys" thing. And for me Atlas may as well have said "Would you kindly play through the game again for an entirely different view of the dialogue?" I'm a sucker for GOOD plot twists. Makes me want to watch Fight Club and The Usual...

I agree that John Marston was great, but Jack kinda cancels that out. The whiney Raiden to his gruff Snake. Niko Belic is also a fine choice. My favorite Nico line: "For an annoying dick you're really an annoying dick!". That's classic perfection.

Best voice-over work in a video game, All-Time.

Wow. I'm trying to look that up but IMDb doesn't even have the game listed, and GameFAQs doesn't have the cast. Not much love out there for Yahtzee's GotY.

Best voice-over work in a video game, All-Time.

This came up in the "Best FPS" thread and it got me thinking. Was it Mike Patton as The Darkness? That was certainly memorable. Ellen McLain as GLaDOS? Her voice was perfect for the part but was it her or the fantastic writing? David Hayter as Snake? He would certainly win if amount of...

The BEST FPS game of all time [your opinoins]

Good choice. Mike Patton definitely tied that room together as the voice of The Darkness.
