Skyrim has had no glitches or crashes for me yet, and I love the UI.

My graphics card loves to overheat (despite 4 80-120mm fans), so I've had over 10 CTDs. Only one has made me scratch my head. I've also dumped nearly 40 hours into this... However, I've noticed that whoever made the changes to the rendering in the Gamebryo engine needs a fucking award or...

    Is Terraria worth the money?

Is it worth it? Very much so. At $5? Even more so. If you like goals in your Minecraft, Terraria's for you. If you like trying new things, Terraria's also for you.

    What if Skyrim is awful?

If it sucks, I will mod it. If it really sucks, I will mod it even harder. If it's awesome, I'm still going to mod it.

Games you like, but everyone seems to hate

...which PnP RPGs? ...I also love the Atelier series, especially the PS2 generation ones. I hear everyone thinks they're just those 2D JPRGs that keep getting pumped out, though.

    Recommend me an MMORPG please

I heard a lot of Vindictus in here. I'm actually going to propose its source game, Mabinogi. It does a lot of things right, such as a complex, real-time combat system and procedurally generated dungeons. It's half fantasy RPG, half Harvest Moon-the-MMO - you can level up by killing monsters or...

    Skyrim for the PS3

If you have generally speaking the popular hardware brands, you should be fine.

    Skyrim for the PS3

Well. I wouldn't say it's a bad decision - they'll probably just use Unity to port it over anyways. I'd go for their PC version for the full experience, though, considering what they're promising and what they always push out on the PC version.

Sexsim: have the tables actually turned?

Please define essentiality. Do you mean by the utility in a given action, or are you taking into account irrational factors?

Sexsim: have the tables actually turned?

Opening a door for anyone is common courtesy. Opening a door for only women is being an asshole to men. Refusing to allow a woman to open her own door is belittling of women. Also, people tend to take only one data point and make assumptions on one's personality. It's terribly unscientific...

Sexsim: have the tables actually turned?

Ohgodohgod why are you going into the theory of education? This is dangerous territory in which I only have light empirical data on (and not actual analysis). When you refer to why engineering is male dominated, we theorize that a lot of it may come from how people acquire systems (and how...

Sexsim: have the tables actually turned?

Judging from posts on this fifth page here, I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that there hasn't been much constructive argumentation here. I guess I'll pitch in my own opinion here: The tables haven't turned, just that amongst different subsets of the population, the inequality works...

    Poll: whose starting WW3 people?

The former is patently false. China has national security concerns over NK being an entity not backed by the US. In fact, if the US did anything, judging from trends in diplomatic tone, China would step the fuck up. You can expect a veto on the UN security council, too. As with Russia, probably...

    Poll: whose starting WW3 people?

Easily, if WW3 were to happen, it would bloom between India and Pakistan. THAT is a hotbed of unfortunate things to come, esepcially with Pakistan's proximity to Afghanistan and her closest ally, China. It would start as skirmishes and escalate to economic warfare. Once India ever hit that...

    Video games set in history.

If you're looking for a Sengoku-era game, then Nobunaga's Ambition might help. If you're looking for the Meiji restoration, I wouldn't know. Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Dynasty Warrior take place in the Three Kingdoms period in China (AD 160-220-ish). Other time periods aren't exactly...

Why does Activision/Call of Duty get all the hate, yet EA doesn't?

From a more industry perspective, I've heard that EA is just too large to really pin down any kind of consistent message. Some of my friends in the industry had relatively positive experiences with EA (hard on deadlines, but know what they're doing and very supportive), whereas Activision got a...
