Sigh. Yet another Member of Parliament who is in the Australian Christian Lobby's (ACL) pocket. Most of the Christians I know here in Aus think the ACL are a bunch of nutters.
It's hard to go past www.ozgameshop.com if you don't mind waiting (they ship from the UK so there is no issue with DLC or regions). For example Saints Row the Third is currently showing on EB Games for $108 on PS3 and Xbox 360 compared to just $57 from ozgames. You can also try...
This is the reason services like ozgameshop are becoming more popular. Not only can us Aussies buy the game much cheaper with free shipping they also sell the UK versions which are compatible with Aussie DLC.
I have personally vowed to NEVER buy a game from Australian retail ever again!
It's not like saying yes will immediately create an R rating for games, we all know that there will be further work needed before it becomes law, eg the full classification review currently being undertaken in this country. All these guys need to do is give an in principal approval of the...
I've had my Play for about a week now and am finding it pretty tasty. If they called it the Emulation Phone it would probably shift a lot more units.
I've been trying to find the fabled MAME emulator... could you let me know what you are using?
As an Australian and a big supporter of an adult games classification in this country AND one who is sick of censorship and arbitrary price mark ups for digital content I would NEVER consider using this for bypassing local requirements... LOOK OVER THERE, IT'S A DISTRACTION!! (Goes to GOG...
Unfortunately getting the powers that be here in Australia to MAKE A GOD DAMN DECISION is beyond farcical. The R18+ rating for games has been vetoed, passed due to absence (all Attorney Generals must meet and agree at their 3 monthly meeting) and put on hold for further review, and more review...
Sony, why not introduce a feature (yes actually add one) that allows homebrew without piracy. There could even be a submission process to allow good, screened, applications and programs onto PSN.
Seriously, if you did this then you would get insta-cred and there would be many hoorays!
Unfortunately the decision (non-decision) came down to wanting to review what the guidelines for an R18+ rating for games would be and now us aussies have to wait while all sorts of specific rating regimes for games are considered. I'm hoping they go for the easiest one:
1. Open up the film...
To all fellow Aussies out there there is an attempt being made to get the review of the classification system that was promised early last year to actually happen. It is being combined with an attempt to get South Australian Attorney General Micheal Atkinson to be excluded from any future...
Okay, I'm in Australia so I can summarise.
- The Aus government promised a review of classification (finally) in March last year
- The Attorney General of South Australia, Micheal Atkinson, who previously had veto'd any discussion on an 18+ rating decided he wanted to "review" the discussion...
