Hey all. I usually buy from EB Games as there is one near my location. I am just starting to look at other online stores, so if you know any cheap ones it'd be good to know. I expect most people will just buy from wherever is cheapest after they've done their research, but which do you mostly buy from? (If you are non Australian and you know a place that sells PAL games and ships to Australia thats fine too.) I had to group "online store" under one heading because there are wayyy too many.

Sorry if your main store isn't included, these are just the ones I know of around NSW.

Usually EB Games, but sometimes GAME. EB does stuff me around sometimes, but they usually have better deals.

Last game I bought a physical copy of was Bioshock 2 over a year and a half ago...it's been exclusively Steam since then, except for the droid marketplace and some other stores for mobile. Probably never gonna buy from a brick-and-mortar store again, unless I get a WiiU or something in the future and need a physical copy, but there's always eBay for that.

Yeah there usual prices are kinda crap, but when they are on sale they sometimes have decent prices. If they aren't on sale (which they almost always are), I usually go to JB.

Aw shit, how did I forget Steam? Ah well, you can't edit polls can you? I see steam prices and get pissed off because my computer is so crap it can't play any games on there (not even TF2).

I buy all my new games from ozgameshop.com, they are half price and it is worth the week wait. I also use steam if I see a good game on sale. Haven't bought a game from a physical store since Cataclysm haha.

It's hard to go past www.ozgameshop.com if you don't mind waiting (they ship from the UK so there is no issue with DLC or regions). For example Saints Row the Third is currently showing on EB Games for $108 on PS3 and Xbox 360 compared to just $57 from ozgames. You can also try www.gamecafe.com.au which searches most sites that ships to Australia and gives you a comparison, but again for UK stuff ozgameshop is usually up there.

Obviously it also depends on the system, pretty much all of my PC games have come from Steam sales!

Oh, and since I have a major retro games fetish I duck into Game Traders every chance I get to drool over the old consoles. One day Dreamcast you will be mine!

Yeah I've had a look at them and they look pretty good. I'll probably start buying games from them in a while. I would also suggest www.dungeoncrawl.com.au , as they are sometimes cheaper than ozgameshop, but have way less shipping time.

I used to buy from JB or EB, and sometimes GAME (when they have good deals).

However, now I just buy my games from ozgameshop.com, unless it's out of stock.

Console games and "regular" PC games - OzGameShop [http://www.ozgameshop.com/] (UK-based online store). Bought Skyrim on PC for $42. Would have been $79 at JB Hi Fi here, and probably $1,000 at EB and Game. The savings I accumulate make it worth the import wait. I can be patient when necessary.

I've also bought a few games from Play-Asia [http://www.play-asia.com/] in my time, but their prices aren't usually as good as OzGameShop, though delivery tends to be faster.

Downloadable PC games - Steam (not worth it for major releases as they adopt AU pricing), GreenManGaming (frequently have code-based sales), GamersGate.

It used to be JB, sometimes EB, but I recently ordered Skyrim and Arkham City through ozgameshop.com, because I could get them for less than $50 each. The cheaper price is worth the wait, although I am in desperate need of my Skyrim copy. It should be here in a few days, I am getting really sick of hearing about how everyones playing it and I'm still waiting.

Its ok.... Deep breaths... Just breathe
