Poll: Back again: More naming choices (sorry)

It's Irish to my knowledge. Interesting not many people on this site've heard of it, because IRL I know a "Declan" and a "Deklan" (one of whom's British). Notably, there's the comedy duo Ant & Dec but apart from that, I don't know of any other famous bearers.

Poll: Back again: More naming choices (sorry)

What's up with this apparent lack of public knowledge of the wonders of the name Declan/Deklan? It's a real name, you guys! It's pronounced Deck-len with stress on the 'deck'. It's a pretty normal name (albeit slightly uncommon) 'round these parts. Oh god.

itt: say something nice to British folk

TV-wise, there's Misfits and Peep Show. Those are both pretty excellent. You make everywhere else's rainy seasons seem not as shitty in comparison.

I haven't seen Highlander, but he seems pretty cool. Glad there are a few cool fictional Duncans out there.

Poll: Back again: More naming choices (sorry)

Ha, I'm borderline spamposting on this thread, but I'll reply to this too. My first name is unequivocally female. No male equivalent, except the obscure name of an ancient Greek playwright. No dice there. I did try the "male version of own name" with my middle name, though. I won't give...

Poll: Back again: More naming choices (sorry)

Oh sweet, another name-changer. Hope you don't mind a few questions. How do you feel having a name that you feel isn't as perfect as it could've been? Are you mostly over it, and totally comfortable now with the one you picked? Does it feel just as natural now as your birthname? Also, do you...

Poll: Back again: More naming choices (sorry)

Absolutely! Go ahead. At this point, I'm taking any and all suggestions into consideration. If you need any character reference, I'm five foot six, can be described either as "happy go-lucky", "incredibly depressing" (I know that's not helpful with the last one, but I think both are true...

Poll: Back again: More naming choices (sorry)

Mm, yeah, that's what scares me. It's such a ginormous change and it's sort-of permanent, unless I want to go through the heartache of going back into the choosing yet another name phase. All the other permanent changes, I'm more than delighted with. My old name, however, is one of the parts of...

Poll: Back again: More naming choices (sorry)

No offense taken, I get the curiosity behind the question. Honestly, I've been inundating my friends constantly with information about my transition, and what's happening with access to hormones, and names, of course, and I feel like they deserve a break. I don't want trans stuff to be all I...

Poll: Back again: More naming choices (sorry)

Welp, it's me again, now with new, improved, more poll choices. Since thinking more about my potential Future Name (the prospect of which is kind of scary) yesterday, I've thought about some more choices. I like these names, too. What do you think? Sorry for cloggin' up the boards with a...

    Poll: Julian or Julius?

Also, some other names I was considering for a while: Ryan, Alex (typical trans name, but still a good one), Timothy, Jean, Marcus. Probably won't go with any of them, but if I pull a heel-face-turn with the Jul names, they're there as backups.

    Poll: Julian or Julius?

I'm half-Greek, half-white Australian and people often make the assumption I'm European. I feel like that's definitely gonna happen more once I get even hairier (also, apparently testosterone darkens your skin a little), so there's little issue with me seeming not mediterranean enough. I have...

    Poll: Julian or Julius?

Thanks for all the responses so far, everybody. I'm still on the fence about it. Sigh, I pretty much agree with everything you said. I really like the name Julius, I think it's interesting, slightly mysterious, even, but it's just so distinguished that I dunno whether I'd feel right being...

    Poll: Julian or Julius?

Oh, also, I know, "Julius" can be a little less common than Julian, but I like the idea of a vaguely, sort-of Greek name (Julius can be Greek), since my old name was, as well as my surname. I like Julian, too, though.

    Poll: Julian or Julius?

Hiya, Escapist. It's been a while (last time I was here was '11, good times). Anyway, the reason I'm here is that I remembered you guys have a polling option, so I figured I'd make a thread. I'm transgender, and picking a male name. I've been stressing over names for, like, three months, and...
