Jim & Yahtzee's Rhymedown Spectacular: To Game Or Not To Game

Thank god for this thread! Personally, as one of those subgroups who like folk/rhyme and video games then I applaud your effots: I now look forward to them. So, to the nub, I run a folk festival every spring in Reading (Berkshire / UK). Any chance I can use your inputs to date at an...

    Not being the target audience

I, honestly, have nothing productive to contribute. I like films based on if i like them. Many a time i have walked out of a film saying, "i see what they were doing, but i don't think that i'm the target audience". I hate to be the antogonist (no, i don't), but i don't disagree with...

Next generation of consoles will probably feature motion controls as standard: deal with it.

I really hate to be a party pooper, but i will............... Unless games become TRULY imersive ie holodeck imersive, it won't matter. Motion control is all well and good, and coupled with a plastic sheath can feel like (for instance) a rifle, but without the peripheral vision, the sheer...

When i've had to teach kids, i've always; (<useless talked to them as normal people. When they argue, say that they are wrong, if they argue, send them home />) but then i'm an external contractor, and can talk to kids how i want (within reason), so i'm not that helpful.....

Gaming has done more for me in the workplace than college...

ok, if you join the MoD, then great ( RN for 3 years). Admitedly, i have looked at the Reading sky line on a post- red faction mission with apprehension. Damn you game intervention.... Leave my reality be!!!!! Ok. I should know better than using actual skills against game skills. but...

Gaming has done more for me in the workplace than college...

to be honest, rapid typing (key aiming) skills has done alot for me, almost all of which i gained from original gen typing games while ikle. Thus, i think that speed typing has been instrumental in my ability to type code, 1 part of my current job, quicker, and cheaper, than others. Also...
