Not directly no. In my high school you were either a religious zealot or the exact opposite. Unfortunately for me I fell squarely in the middle of that, so people just kind of avoided me. No idea if that counts though.

Biologically speaking it means to be able to successfully reproduce, so we are all "mature" for a long time. Otherwise I'd say it means caring about those around you as much if not more than yourself, and realizing when and where certain things are appropriate.
