What's the most awesomest book you've ever read?

It's either The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness, or I Shall Wear Midnight by Terry Pratchett. The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson and Iron Sunrise by Charles Stross get honourable mentions.

A question for the female escapists....

Nah, I lost interest in the call of duty franchise at MW1. Never bought MW2 or any of them after that. They started heading down the multiplayer focus and short SP campaigns and just lost me.

High Fantasy/Sword and Sorcery/Whatever with a Female Main Protagonist

Vin from Mistborn. (Brandon Sanderson Sonea from the black magician trilogy (Trudi Canavan, and all of her books have female lead characters, even if her most recent series is an ensemble (so male leads too)) Mallian from the Wall of Night series (Helen Lowe) Shy from Red Country (Joe...

The new Assassin's Creed trailer is pretty badass.

So, though the trailer said nothing about the gameplay whatsoever, at least it vaguely implies that the new guy is a bit more Ezio than Connor - the worst protagonist in the series in my opinion, by quite some way (which is why it wounds me that the prologue has you playing as such a good...

Blizzard Surprised by Reaction to Online-Only Diablo 3

Yeah, I feel more or less the same - my internet connection is pretty much stable so it's not really personal, but I might not always have that luxury and I'm not big into shooting myself in the foot even if it's with a slow bullet. Additionally, I've never played a diablo game online and I...

Poll: Do you ever feel sorry for a protagonist?

I think the protagonist I felt sorriest for was Freya Nakamichi-47 from Saturns Children. I also felt pretty sorry for Shallan in The Way of Kings, and to an extent, Kaladin from the same book, both characters go through a lot of shit but seem pretty decent.

    Poll: Are you "fashionable"?

I'm not fashionable in that I don't choose what I wear based on what is trendy (though I'm not averse to that coinciding). I do however, take care of my appearance and make efforts to look good according to my own standards.

Best graphical effects in a game

The Witcher 2 is basically just gorgeous in every single way. I mean -damn-. Not just in technical prowess but in the way it effortlessly conveys a world that feels lived in. Pretty much no other gamedoes that.

Are humans meant to be monogamous creatures?

    Yeah, sentience is amazing, eh?

    Confusing the Child's Gender?

Why is it important for them to be told they're male or female? What does that mean? What does it even entail?

    Poll: Arming the UK Police

police officers are there to keep the peace, not kill people. The UK doesn't suffer from out of control criminality and we have almost no gun crime. What possible use could we have for arming our officers when there is no clear need for them to be so?

    What's your Favorite book series.

The Stormlight archive is looking amazingly promising. I can't believe I'm going to have to wait several years for the next one due to his other commitments :( I want to know what happens! At least I'll have the alloy of law to tide me over in the next couple of months :)

    What's your Favorite book series.

Mistborn, currently. My 'favourite' tends to change all the time but it's the most recent series that left a huge impact on me so it's my current favourite.
