Actually I have a circle pad pro for my XL and it feels incredibly comfortable in my hands. I think it feels even better than holding the XL without the circle pad pro and use it even when I'm not playing games that require it.

I'm pretty sure that lift is pure evil, if you jump onto it while it is already travelling, gravity seems to glitch out and you will start continuously bouncing on it as it travels down, taking damage with every bounce until you are either dead or dangerously close to it.
