Wow.... that actually makes some sense. I think I'd much prefer something along those lines than than the whole Deathly Hallows debacle. Why Rowling couldn't just continue along those lines instead of pulling some other magical contrivance out of her ass to allow Harry to win is beyond me.

The mannequins & weapon racks in Proudspire Manor are glitchy as hell. Half of the racks and/or wall mounts don't let you activate them and the manequins disappear and keep spawning copies of armor you originally put on and took off there. Nothing major, it's just annoying.

Just installed the update and the lag issue seems to be fixed but I really can't tell about the texture resolution. And they didn't fix the mannequins & weapon racks =[

I just hope they fix the bloody mannequins.

It was also never purely software emulation. Sure they emulated the CPU but they always left the GPU in there to do the bulk of its processing. For some reason no-one seems to remember this.

Actually the later versions took out the Emotion Engine (which until that point had been used for the PS2 emulation) but left in the "Graphics Synthesizer" GPU, which is what made the backwards compatibility possible (i.e. no it was not purely software based). Just having the graphics...

I've had the exact same problem and tried to warn people away from it whenever I seem someone going to purchase it in a store. It's not the be all and end all of glitches but it is rather annoying. ...I spent ages trying to find out why I couldn't cure it too >.<

I believe there's now a levels with the character weapon for just about every play-style. I don't quite remember what DLC it came in though.
